LabLog 1.0 - How's your stroke? Creation of an auto-stroker

Let's start this design by focusing on the most important feature in a male sex toy. You can take the what features are important poll. In the meantime, let's look at the stroke. It's turning out to be a fairly complex problem - given that we also want it to be hands-free. How do you get something to jerk back and forth without being secured?
Initially it seemed like we'd either have to strap it to your body or anchor to a stationary surface. Check out the following figure to see what i mean.
We obviously don't want to make a sex toy for men that has straps, desks, or even hands as a requirement so i started looking at using your "man-geometry" as the stationary surface.
What if we had one mechanism doing the grasping and another one creating the motion? That could be cool. We're calling this family of ideas "the inch worm" (not really sure why). . . check out figure (right).
Exploring the inch worm direction, i started to focus on what methods we could use to create motion - stroking motion. After a bunch of sketching, we ended up with a few prospects (see below).
We agreed to pursue a path similar to the sketch labelled, "back/forth rubbing arms" (in figure above). We're going out on a limb here though. We're going to see if we can get the whole contraption to bounce back and forth like a crazed jumping bean, rather then have the mechanism rub directly. We're not sure if and how this technique will work, but there's one sure way to find out. Let's model it up and make a prototype!

v2k has electroconductive rubber you can get also. its probably the most complete of the above, except it costs a lot, i tried the receiver [reccommend electro rubber as its texture is much much smoother than the stuff they give you]. but, the air going in and out [i used my own sorta pump thingy] was too much it actually hurt my dick, and i think the cylinder was also too narrow.
if you plan on getting a v2k, make sure to OVER estimate your girth just a little, and fit an o-ring for the entry. I had to unfortunately chuck my receiver as it was too narrow, ejaculating into it actually was PAINFUL
anyway the motor on the venus can go SO FAST I wonder how safe that one is. But I cant say I dont like the idea of making a more affordable yet effective and not so LOUD [sound] version

All right guys - first of all good first effort, but the first post is right, unless its better than your hand, no one is going to pony up to buy one of these for anything other than a novelty. part of the problem for all male "toys" Fleshlight Pocket pussy, etc is that they try to reproduce something that any man can do without a machine. Trick is to redefine the experience. One suggestion is check out some of the estim sites - http://www.smartstim.com is a good place to start - I tried this out, did not really do it for me, but for sheer creativity check out the DIY posts - REALLY pushing the envelope - wow. Rather than having a toy that mimics a solo hand job I'd try for something that simulates multiple hands, variable strokes and perhaps even sensors, ticklers and probes that stimulate other areas simultaneously. In terms of the mechanical action I'd suggest using countervailing strokes - essentially stimulating the cock up and down at the same time. Imagine two interlocked springs with vibrating, pulsing nubs turning in opposite directions. Check out the Dolphin Vibrator for women, the metal bead portion. There is also the form factor. I like the fact that you are not trying to simulate a pussy, but i think you can do better than a hemroid cushion or Krispy Kreme for a model. I've given this matter a great deal of thought and would be happy to discuss this further.
