Thanks to everyone for participating - we had a huge response to the beta tester questionnaire! The survey is now closed and we're sorting through the results.
To address your concerns about losing email in junk mail, we're going to send out notification emails to the selectees on Sunday Aug 3rd - so keep on eye on your inbox and junk mail folders that day.
Once again, we'll be asking everyone to keep their involvement confidential - and not discuss it on this blog or anywhere else for the time being. When we're closer to production and confident that our patents are tight - we'll relax that constraint.

Just what I noticed about beta testers. Rubbot team stated they had over 1000 responses to the questionnaire. They had a limited amount of beta units to distribute, 100 sticks in my mind for some reason but I would say that is the most they had. so that means 90% of those who submitted the questionnaire did NOT get picked. So if you didn't get picked for beta you are in the majority with the rest of us. I still look forward to this and hope it comes along soon.

Ok ok....you know something, it botherd me that I didnt get chosen yes.... it did.... I thought I would be a good canidate, however....it has been pretty quiet here now that the 3rd of August has passed.... I think we were taken for a huge ride and really in all honesty.... I truly think that no one was picked, and that this whole thing was nothing but a computer programer thinking up an idea, and when it went to far....just backed off and made us all believe that there was a test...like really!!! if you were testing something like this and you wont say anything to who was chosen..... well how the H#@$ are we to know that it actually happend.... I think I as well as the rest of us were sucked in by mr "rubbot".....
Just my opinion.....I guess seeing is believing .... like ya....post some finishing video on here or something....but nothing....stupid stupid stupid.... what a waste of time this was....

whoa! to those of us working our butts off here, that's a little harsh.
there are several reasons why many types of beta tests are kept confidential. in the case of a male sex toy, most participants are glad that it's confidential and it also encourages honest feedback.
if you knew anything about product design, you'd realize that the photos, videos and CAD shown in some of these blogs take time, expertise and money to develop. Not the kind of thing a "computer programmer with an idea" could conjure up on a whim.

As Inventor of the Virtual Sex Machine, and CEO/CS of Virtual Reality Innovations, I understand your pain.
What these people don't understand, is, there is no giant research money pot out there for the developers of adult products. Almost every product developed, including ours, is done with private money, and little or no connection to the adult industry.
As a 23 year veteran of the adult industry, I know there was no investment money available for our R&D Lab.
You guys seem to be in a similar situation. Every idea starts with a "computer guy with an idea." That's how new ideas are formed. Not by committee.
And if you didn't get picked as a beta tester, so what?
Stop getting mad because you didn't get a "freebie."
It costs money and time to develop an idea like this, especially if it's not your full time job.
I applaud them for their efforts. Frankly, I cringe at how much information they ARE sharing with everyone.
I'd never do that. We have other products in development, but I'm not going to tell potential competitors about it. There is very little benefit to them to share any info with you. In fact, they promised NOT to disclose any of the beta tester info. So climb off their back, will ya?
What often happens to products like this, is, they get convinced to make it in China, because they need to save money. Before they ever get their product back from production, it's knocked off, and being distributed in the Asian pacific rim.
I hope you guys really have gotten your patent paperwork in motion, in time. If you did, you may at least be able to protect it, eventually, with a block entry. But chances are, your product will get Knocked off anyhow.

ya, we struggled with the whole sharing-of-information idea when we set out on this adventure. there is a definite risk of getting knocked off, but it has some huge advantages too. trying to launch something like this without funding, as you know, can be pretty demoralizing at times. the constant supportive comments we get from our community, write-ups on sites like: slashdong, fleshbot , gizmodo - and reinforcement from industry people, like yourself, really keep us going.
we do have a decent patent position, but patents have pretty dubious value in my opinion. we're hoping that a solid kick-ass design will win the day. the patents aren't published yet, as that often takes a couple of years, but we'll probably post them on this site in advance of that.
anyway, thanks again for your wise words and support!

First post here. Have been watching this for a long time now. Have to say I was surprised at how much info on the prototype you have shown as well. Don't let someone who's pissed off he wasn't picked for beta get to you.

How 'bout an update? I'm dying to know how things are going, even in the most vague terms. Is the beta going well? How has the feedback been? Any problems that you didn't foresee in the beta process? When can I finally buy one of these things?
/agreed, we should only be so lucky to know that a product is in the works to help us males w/ Hands free pleasure. Quit the whining and complaining about not getting picked for Beta testing.

Most of us did not get chosen. Actually not surprising, since a BETA test is mostly for a very select group. Lets just all wait and see. We made it this far, so let's not kill ourselves over the last steps.
I still find it quite odd that nobody who was chosen for the test has come up and said at least that they were chosen, or the fact that we haven't heard any new news about the beta test commencing on here yet. Makes me wonder if those emails have gone out yet or if they are still trying to choose people for the beta test. I hope that they haven't gone out yet.
I read that they did send them. Also the people that were chosen were sworn to not discuss this with anyone. I'm sure that they had to sign a no disclosure agreement. Thats cool, I just am very anxious to hear what the results are and if they will send out anymore betas to be tested.
The Secret Testers are probably reading these posts with a lapful of Rubbot and laughing their collective asses off. But the truth is the ones who didn't get picked for first round have a chance at a more streamlined Rubbot for second round, if there is one. But if not, hey that must mean we can just buy one.
Any idea when we will hear results from the tests. I am really curious to know. Also will there be any extra beta testing going on. Don't want to push you guys, but DAMN IT, I'm pushing because I want to know, lmao.

Yeah.... I am dissapionted but not surprised that I wasnt chosen, I though I would be chosen but I realized this was a US thing and I probably wasnt picked cuz I am in Canada.... i don't think the emails have been sent out yet. The people on this site would be bragging about the fact that they got one if they did already, so be patient!

crap. I just went through and deleted 547 emails then decided to chec-in with the rubbot folks. THEN I learn that they sent-out alerts today. I shall forever believe that I just deleted my chance to influence history!
I have been counting the days to August 3rd and now I can hardly wait to see if I am chosen.... the part that sucks for me is that I will have to wait until after work to check my email to see if I was selected.... I am totally excited....

Today is the big day...hoping to get picked!
Missed the signup, but my wife will be out of town from the 9th thru the 12th...On the plus side, I'm a beta tester for the Fyreboxx, so if you need a 4-day endurance test in the short term and you can get a unit here before next weekend, I can totally cover that for you.
